It is an effective medium to retain that minimum superheat necessary for a smooth casting operation by preventing radiant heat loss from the surface of the molten steel. Using RHA in this form is a breakthrough as it was only discovered few years ago, due to its granules form it prevents air pollution, reduces wastage, and ensures effective utilization of the product.
